Doyle, Barbara T., M.S., and Emily Doyle Iland, B.A. Autism Spectrum Disorders from A to Z: Assessment, Diagnosis . . . and
More! Volume 1. (2004).
Appropriate for: Parents suspecting that their children are on the spectrum or adults who suspect they are on the spectrum
I wish I had this book when my husband and I were first told that our son may be on the spectrum. It is thorough, realistic, and on point. I am ten years down the road from diagnosis, so it's with that perspective that I can say that I absolutely agree with the authors' point of view from how to evalutate all of the information about autism (its origins, its treatment, etc.) to how to share information about your child's autism with family, teachers, and your child himself. It is all simply so reasonable and straightforward. I wish I had had this roadmap.
